A Shoot with Brice Ferre.. Sneak Peak!

Today I was lucky enough to be snapped by Brice Ferre, a photographer from Vancouver who utilized me for his series of fine art photos. It was great working with Brice, and most importantly - it was comfortable! I wanted to show you the first photo that Brice has sent me as he says it's a tradition to send his anxious models a photo quickly after a shoot.

Apparently this was the first photo taken today and Brice did a fantastic job! Since Facebook can be a tit bit crazy about the slightest bit of nudity, I thought I'd share it here. Please check out Brice's work at his website.

My Frugal Fuchsia First Time Pasties!

As I've already established I am a budget burlesquer. As much as I love not doing things myself, buying pasties for each routine I do is just not practical with the budget I have. So, for this fantastic trio I am doing with Miss. Aida Manic and Vermillion Viper I have attempted to make my own pasties from scratch with no instruction.

The pasties cost me zilch as I used scraps of stuff I already had and took about 10 - 15 minutes to make. So, they aren't as sturdy as the $30 ones but they will definitely do for now! Here is my documentation of my first try at making pasties!
  1. I gathered my supplies - a piece of card *subliminal messaging*, a pen, fabric scraps and a salt shaker
  2. Yes, my nipples seem to be salt shaker size, so I traced around the shaker and cut.
  3. Then, I carefully marked the middle of the circle cut out with an X and cut half way through the pastie
  4. Using my best friend, fabric glue, I glued a basic pink fabric to the entire pastie making slits along the sides of the fabric so it fit to the circular shape.
  5. Then I added the more fun pink fabric.
  6. I re-cut the slit I made earlier and made a cone shape with the pastie.
  7. Since I'm way too lazy to sit there holding the pastie in place so the glue can dry I asked my assistant clothing hanger to do it for me.
  8. Half an hour later I was blessed with a working pastie! Not bad for a first try but I can improve fo sheezy. Oh, and I tested them out yesterday at The Taboo Revue and they worked their magic perfectly!

My process making pasties. My hand usually doesn't look like a demented babies foot.

If you want to see these pasties in action come to The Taboo Revue on February 25th! More details can be found at www.rufflesilkskin.com/see-ruffle-live!
